As per the reports, 67 percent of the customers prefer receiving transactional SMS from banking and financial companies. No doubt, most of the SMSes are related to their bank account activities and transactions’ alert. The SMS we receive on our phone whenever money is debited from or credited to our bank account is one form of transactional SMS.
Retail store
You might have received text message alerts from retail store companies just after you purchased something. So, shipping details and purchase confirmation are such messages. Almost 64 percent of the mobile users prefer this sector.
Travel industry
In this case, 55 percent of the customers are okay with receiving transactional SMSes. Flight status, delay SMS, hotel check-in SMS are such examples.
Restaurant and delivery SMS
Once you receive a product which you had ordered online, you get an alert on your phone in the form of SMS. In addition, you also get notified by an SMS when your table in ready in the restaurant you are visiting. Here, 55 percent of the users are fine with this form of SMS service.
Service Company
Alerts related to automotive maintenance is one such form you can consider. 44 percent of mobile users prefer receiving transactional SMS in this case.
Transportation services
We often book cabs through mobile apps, and when we do, the company sends a text message containing the status and the details of the cab. In this case, 39 percent of the users are fine with such messages.
Insurance company
This is the least liked industry sector, where only 35% of the customers or mobile users give their consent for such SMSes.
