1) Text message marketing is less effective than other channels
Whenever marketing experts compare SMS marketing with other channels, they consider SMS inferior. But the reality is, SMS is part of our life more than other channels.
Every phone has text SMS functionality. It may not support other channels such as Email.
Hence, it is always a good idea to use SMS as the prime marketing channel.
2) Only new generation uses SMS
No, it is a mass communication channel used by everyone, regardless of age or technical competency. With the availability of vernacular bulk SMS service, it has crossed the linguistic barriers as well.
Hence, it is a wise idea to use SMS for multifaceted marketing campaigns.Â
Statistics show that people above the age of 50 use smartphones and operate the Internet. Hence, receiving and sending message is not a big deal for them.
3) People ignore promotional SMS
No, it is an incorrect assumption. SMS is different than Email. In the case of SMS, people certainly open and read the SMS even when they know that it is promotional one.
On the contrary, the majority of the users want to receive text messages containing promotional offers. Since it is quick and easy, readers find it handier than email.
4) It is not worth spending on SMS
